No Meaningful Use penalties for eClincalWorks users

In an FAQ, CMS outlines that it does not plan to conduct audits to find eligible professionals (EPs) who relied on flawed software for their attestation information. In light of recent investigations into the possibility that eClinicalWorks may have falsified certain capabilities in order to obtain certification, the FAQ is intended to address situations in which EPs discover, after attesting, that the EHR software was flawed. In the FAQ, the agency explains its reasoning that EPs relied on the software to meet reporting and certification standards, and believes that most EPs who could be improperly deemed meaningful users would have otherwise met the requirements of the incentive program had it not been for internal issues within the EHR system that were out of their control.
